Spotlight on Delta Drift performing in Salisbury
By Sarah Hall
There’s a double dose of The Delta Drift coming up this weekend in Salisbury.
Fellow North Carolinian Thomas Wolfe may have admonished “You Can’t Go Home Again,” but Nick Foltz, Cameron Thomas, Jimbo Martin and Josh Goodwin beg to differ. After months of touring up and down the east coast, these favorite sons of Salisbury are finally bringing their blues and country-infused rock and roll back to the home folks.
On Friday, Catawba College’s Nature SAFE club is sponsoring a free concert featuring both Delta Drift and another local favorite, Tripp Edwards and his band. The performance will be in Hedrick Theater, located in the Robertson College-Community Center 2300 W. Innes St. beginning at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, The Delta Drift will be at the club Three Fifteen, 315 E. Council St. for what promises to be a great show. Also on hand will be bands The Corduroy Road out of Athens, Ga. and Tonberry from Asheville. The cover charge is $5.
According to The Delta Drift’s touring schedule, there are no Salisbury shows scheduled again in the foreseeable future. So don’t miss out. How often does opportunity knock twice?
nnnThe Salisbury Post featured The Delta Drift this past summer, in the June 7 TimeOut, commemorating the release of their CD “Desolate City.” You can read it here:
