Junior Cotillion
The Salisbury Junior Cotillion Club recently held its Spring Ball and dinner party at the Country Club of Salisbury. Members and parents participated in an elegant evening of dinner, dancing and fun.
Members of the Junior Cotillion Club are: Eleanor Alcorn, Mackenzie Beaver, Lucas Capito, Caroline Chilton, Matthew Chilton, Jordan DeJaco, Christopher Derrick, Spencer Dixon, Alexandra Drye, Anna Flynn, Lauren Gaskill, Maggie Habeeb, Meghan Klinedinst, Sarah Klinedinst, Ian Lins, Madison Muire, Katherine Paul, Drew Pethel, Jon Mark Petty, Andrew Purcell, Sam Reeder, Erin Roy, Jessica Roy, Lauren Roy, Thacher Shields, Olivia Smith, Philip Simons, Cody Veros, Samantha Washko, Maria Weber, Mason Whitaker, and John Haile Young.
The Junior Cotillion offers lessons in social graces for students in grades 6, 7 and 8. Table manners, proper dress, introductions, conversation, ballroom dance, and more are taught and practiced to strengthen self confidence.

Willa D. Carlton of Durham, was judge for the National Piano Guild Auditions held in Rowan County on April 24-26. Marsha Ketner Carter of China Grove is chairman of the organization’s China Grove /Rockwell Center.
Auditions were held at First Baptist Church in China Grove and St. James Lutheran Church in Rockwell.
Students received local, district, state, national and international honors according to the number of pieces they played, from two to 15.
Each pianist received a certificate, a pin, and a one-year membership in the National Fraternity of Student Musicians.
