Troutman twins take titles in paint horse competition
Paint Horse youth competitors Kali and Sami Cram, of Troutman, each captured a title recently at the 2009 Summer World Championship Paint Horse Show. The show, held in Fort Worth, Texas, June 24 through July 4, is one of the American Paint Horse Association’s premier events.
Kali claimed the World Championship in Jumping 18 & Under showing Ima Lotta Leaguer, a 10-year-old gelding owned by his rider. Sami captured the Reserve World Championship in the same class aboard her 9-year-old mare, Quincy Dodger Sue.
In jumping, horses are judged on their ability to negotiate at least four obstacles with a minimum of eight jumps. Youth are classified as competitors aged 18 and under who are required to show a self- or family-owned horse.
