Rowan teams on the road Friday

Staff report
If you like to travel, Friday night is for you.
All of the Rowan County teams will be away:
• East Rowan visits North Iredell. The Mustang boys (0-9, 0-3) will have a chance to win their first game of the season against North Iredell (4-6, 2-1). The girls (3-8, 1-2) will not be favored against the first-place Raiders (11-1, 4-0).
• South Rowan goes to Statesville. The boys (3-10, 0-3) are coming off a heartbreaking double-overtime loss to Carson and face the talented Greyhounds (7-3, 3-0), who are currently in first place alone. South’s girls (4-8, 1-2) should even their conference record against last-place Statesville (0-10, 0-4).
• Carson’s boys (6-8, 3-2) could beat West Iredell (7-5, 2-2) but must stop explosive Zach Follrod. The Cougar girls (10-4, 2-1) are clearly the second-best team in the NPC and are heavily favored against the Warriors (1-9, 1-3).
• Salisbury makes the short trip to West Davidson. The Hornets should easily sweep the Green Dragons.
• North Rowan’s boys (9-3, 5-0) should stay in first place even with the longest trip of all to Chatham Central (4-6, 3-2). The Cavalier girls (4-8, 3-2) try to bouce back against the first-place Bears (7-2, 5-0).
