Area sports briefs: Bonilla leads Hornets

From staff reports
Salisbury’s boys soccer team won 4-1 at Carson on Wednesday in a tough match that was tied at halftime.
Kenny Bonilla scored three goals for the Hornets (7-0). Lucas Capito had one goal. Zachary Sukkasem and Philip Simons contributed assists.
“The last 20 minutes of the first half, Carson won all the 50/50 balls and took it to us,” SHS coach Matt Parrish said. “They had more drive than we did in the first half, but we talked about what we needed to do at halftime and executed. It was a good win, but it was a win that showed us we’re not yet where we want to be.”
Bonilla converted the go-ahead goal on a free kick from 25 yards out nine minutes after halftime and cashed in a PK after Capito was fouled in the box three minutes later.
