Kauffman fundraiser breakfast and ride Saturday

A flapjack breakfast and memorial ride on Saturday will benefit the wife and child of the late Marcus “Marco” Kauffman.
The breakfast will take place 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 115 Glenway Drive, Statesville. Tickets are $7 in advance or $8 at the door.
Staging for the escorted memorial ride will start at 11 a.m. in the Walmart parking lot behind the restaurant. The ride will make its way to West End Plaza, 1935 Jake Alexander Blvd., Salisbury.
There’s a $20 registration fee for the ride. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.
Twenty-five-year-old Marco Kauffman died after being shot when he confronted men robbing his home on Dec. 2. His wife, Maryann, gave birth to their son in February.
