Fundraiser July 11 for Rockwell man injured in accident

ROCKWELL — A fundraiser for a local man injured in a motorcycle accident will be held in July at the Food Lion parking lot on West Main Street.

Michael Socorro, who is 23 and was a manager at the town’s Food Lion, was severely injured in an accident June 9. He is currently in rehab at CMC-NorthEast in Concord.

The fundraiser is July 11. It starts at 6 a.m. and will run throughout the day. Money from the fundraiser will help pay Socorro’s medical bills. Organizers are hoping to raise $25,000, according to Linda Goodman, a neighbor of Socorro.

Churches, restaurants and Food Lion vendors will all be represented at the restaurant. T-shirts supporting Socorro will be for sale.

A fundraising website for Socorro has been setup at www.youcaring.com.
