In the wrestling state championships held in Greensboro on Friday and Saturday, South Rowan’s Jacob Cox (53-3) won the 2A title at 113 pounds.

Cox won four matches. He won by technical fall (16-1) in the semifinals and took another tech fall (16-0) in the championship match late Saturday.

Cox won by technical fall and by pin in his first two matches.

East Rowan’s Nate Burrage took second place in 3A at 120 pounds. Burrage (46-10) reached the final by taking three decisions. He won 3-2 in the semifinals.

East’s Oren “OJ” Bost (43-6) won a decision to take third place in 3A at 152 pounds. Bost lost in the semifinals, but bounced back with two wins. He went 4-1 in the tournament.

East’s Tayron Frost won a major decision for fifth place in 3A at 182 pounds. Frost (49-9) lost his opening match, but went 4-2 in the tournament

Salisbury had two placers with Javon White (37-11) taking fifth in 2A at 113 pounds with a 3-2 record, and Michael Lowry (45-10) finishing sixth at 138 with a 3-3 record.

Salisbury’s Tkaii Gaither (23-14) went 1-2 at 195 pounds.

Carson’s Robert Barringer (27-12) went 1-2 at 195 pounds in 3A.

West Rowan’s Baiden Suddarth (29-10) went 2-2 at 195 in 3A. One of his wins was against Barringer. West’s Lane Adkins (40-11) went 1-2 at 138.

South’s  Sam Kincaid (40-14) went 2-2 at 138 in 2A. One of his losses was to Salisbury’s Lowry. South’s Gabriel Kincaid (38-15) went 1-2 at 132.

A.L. Brown’s Kaleb McGee (46-13) went 2-2 in the 3A tournament at 145 pounds.

A.L. Brown’s Gavin Hartsell (28-10) went 1-2 at 160.

Davie’s Lane Hill (42-18) went 0-2 at 126.

Davie’s Tyler Snyder (36-16) went 1-2 at 132.

Davie’s Collin Bailey (45-10) went 1-2 at 138.

Davie’s Isaac Webb (37-15) went 1-2 at 152.

Davie’s Jack Jarvis (42-11) went 1-2 at 160
