Rowan Register of Deeds, other agencies modifying contact during coronavirus

The Rowan County Register of Deeds and other county agencies are modifying public access effective immediately, according to a statement from the county.

A phone/intercom has been placed outside the Register of Deeds office doors with instructions on how to contact employees. Staff will either direct the citizen to the appropriate department or allow them to enter in order to fulfill the citizen’s request.

In addition, the N.C. Cooperative Extension Rowan County Center has implemented an appointment-only schedule as it relates to extension business. Before visiting the extension office, everyone is asked to call 704-216-8970 to arrange an appointment. Visit the agency’s website at rowan.ces.ncsu.edu for more information.

In response to COVID-19, the Rowan County Department of Environmental Management also is suspending its practice of allowing volunteers to work at the Rowan County Solid Waste and Recycling center locations effective today.

Community service program participants who may report to any of the sites will be asked to leave and contact the Community Service Program (NC DPS) office. Additionally, the Department of Environmental Management has implemented a modification to its practice of performing customer cash transactions, which will adhere to mandated social distancing protocols.
