With a library card, people can access K-12 educational content available through ProQuest databases at no cost by visiting nclive.org. These resources are offered at no cost to Rowan Public Library cardholders including adult, juvenile and Rowan One Card patrons. ProQuest is known internationally for its information collections used by researchers, libraries, students, scholars, and professionals. In particular, eLibrary, SIRS Discoverer, and SIRS Issues Researcher provides a plethora of multidisciplinary reference materials for elementary, middle, and high school learners.
ProQuest’s eLibrary, SIRS Discoverer, and SIRS Issues Researcher are reference tools providing access to images, websites, magazines, videos, and educational materials available through Compton’s by Britannica encyclopedia, DK Eyewitness books, PopSci for Kids, and many others. eLibrary offers over 150 subject areas, 110 million total documents, and 1,700 periodicals and reference books. SIRS Discoverer is designed for upper elementary and middle schoolers seeking trusted informational resources in curriculum areas such as math, science, history, health, language arts, technology, and social studies. SIRS Issues Researcher has content for students researching primary sources and government documents on global topics. Students can analyze resources on social, scientific, economic, historic, and political issues centered on educational curriculum standards.
Educators can search for content using state standards, share their resources using Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, or Google Classroom, and appreciate the responsive screen design display for learners accessing information using mobile devices. Students will enjoy the text to speech feature, the ease of locating biographical information, and the citation generator that will compile information for class assignments. These resources are user friendly, easy to use with a search bar, and include clickable images to locate any relevant subject of interest. Give it a try by visiting nclive.org today.
